THE ROLE OF SUSTAINABLE LIVESTOCK FARMING IN ENHANCING ANIMAL HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

Livestock farming is an essential component of agricultural systems and contributes significantly to global food production, economic development, and rural livelihoods. However, increasing livestock production has created several environmental and management challenges, including greenhouse gas emissions, waste accumulation, land degradation, and disease risks. Sustainable livestock farming provides an effective strategy to balance animal production with environmental conservation and long-term agricultural development. This research paper examines the importance of sustainable livestock management practices and their influence on animal health, ecosystem stability, and food security. The study highlights various approaches including improved animal nutrition, veterinary healthcare, waste recycling, disease prevention, and environmentally friendly farming systems. The relationship between livestock production and environmental sustainability is also discussed.
