Agroforestry is an integrated land-use system that combines trees, crops, and livestock within the same agricultural landscape to enhance productivity, environmental sustainability, and socioeconomic benefits. Growing concerns regarding biodiversity loss, climate change, soil degradation, and food insecurity have increased global interest in agroforestry systems. Agroforestry contributes to biodiversity conservation by providing habitats for various plant and animal species while improving ecosystem services and agricultural resilience. This review examines the principles of agroforestry, its role in biodiversity conservation, environmental benefits, socioeconomic impacts, challenges, and future prospects. The review highlights agroforestry as a sustainable strategy for promoting climate-resilient agriculture and supporting global sustainable development goals.
